New Design on Battery Heat Loss
With greater efficiency and more applications, I am sure your Laptop must now be a hot stuff. How can we deal with that? Designer Young Hwan Kim suggested a new concept of “Float Away” yesterday. In this design concept, the lithium battery is now get away from the desk surface, and has more space in between. As a result of that, there will be more fresh and cool air coming inside the little space, and is already able to lower the battery temperature, and extend its lifespan.

Although the majority of laptops nowadays already have little plasitcs at its bottom to reduce friction and improve the ventilation, but the height of such elevation is limited. But what I want to praise is that “Float Away” not only aid ventilation and lower the temperature, but also match with the ergonomic study, so as to allow maximum comfortability during typing.
As I have mentioned before, this is merely a conceptual design, and there is still a long way to the manufacturing stage. Anyway, let’s enjoy the gorgeous design diagrams below.

Those design photos look very sexy! However, I think notebook users are looking for ergonomics as well as increasing battery life. Notebook risers are a good all round solution, bringing the screen to eye-height and many have in-built cooling properties. I use a riser combined with an external keyboard and mouse and this negates the need for a second desktop computer.
